I have a client who is acquiring companies. One of the companies they recently purchased uses Sage 100 but the database is not on the same server as their other Sage 100 companies. They would like to include this company in their consolidated reporting. Is this possible without moving the new Sage 100 company to the same server as the others? The server that this new Sage 100 company is located on is only accessible through a remote desktop connection and is not part of their internal network. Thank you.

Hi Lorrie.

As discussed, the database needs to be exposed on the remote server and I suggest getting an IT administrator involved here.  Once done you should be able to access it by creating a standard connection to the server.  In this case you would need to use a Union Report to combine the data from the different companies.  I'm not sure if it would be possible to consolidate the Financial Report Designer.  I have an idea of how this could work but it would need to be tested.
