My Intelligence Reporting has started acting strangely.
It will not launch the Financial Report Designer with the task pane and BI Tools ribbon unless I already have a blank page of Excel open.
In Excel, under Options, Report Designer Add-in 1.2.0 (Custom Task Pane Helper) will show as active in a regular Excel window with no IR reports.
But if I run a report from the Report Manager without Excel open, that Add-in is not in Options, is not a disabled Add-in, and is not in the COM Add-ins menu.
I noticed this problem after installing Sage 50 Canada 2018. Not sure if it's the cause, but it's the only change that I'm aware of on this computer.
Since then, I've uninstalled Sage 50 Canada, but the problem persists.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a similar problem. Can you help me too?
The issue was resolved in an office update
Have you installed the latest office updates?
Yes - I am on automatic updates and I just double checked and I am up to date.
- Remove intelligence reporting (from the list of installed windows programs)
- Run a repair on office (with sage 50 closed)
- Reboot machine
- Reinstall intelligence reporting (just clicking on it from within sage 50 will reinstall the latest version)
- Run your reports
Now I don't even get an Excel report - instead get
"Unable to get Add property of the Workbooks class"
After applying the update David mentioned, I also reinstalled Sage 50 US to a new program path and that fixed the problem for me.
If you're not sure how to do this, please send me an email firstname.lastname@example.org and we can take a look at it.
