Report Designer Add-In Error - Cannot Run Macro 'mnu_ShowTaskPane' the macro may not be available in this workbook or all macros may be disabled

Copied the Report Designer Add-In template & ran it to excel.  When I select Show Task Pane from the Excel Add-in Tab, the message:  Report Designer Add-In Error - Cannot Run Macro 'mnu_ShowTaskPane' 0 the macro may not be available in this workbook or all macros may be disabled  displays.  I confirmed that all Macros were enabled in Excel Options.

I did a little troubleshooting & found that if I opened the Sage.BI.ExcelFunctions excel file located in the \\Program Files(86)\CommonFiles\BIExcelFunctions\32bit folder, I was able to show the task pane.

I have followed the recommended steps to uninstall and reinstall Report Designer Add-In & and continue to encounter this issue

Hi Denise, if you right click on the Show task Pane/Add In Tab - there should be an option to remove it...it looks like something has gone wrong ..so if you start by removing that ...then go into Excel/Options/AddIns - select to Manage Excel Add-ins and then "Go", a pop up box should appear with a list of available Excel Add Ins.  Do you see the "Report Designer AddIn" listed there? If you do- make sure the box is selected/ticked and then select OK.  If its not there then you need to click on "browse" in that pop up box and browse to the "PLDRILL.dll" file - which should be in the Common files folder ... this should get it all working.

See attached document on the Task pane missing or closing. Perhaps this may help

Ruth - I'm getting an error when attempting to run the Report Designer Ass-in S300SQL 1-0 report.  The error is " An unexpected error occurred: Unable to create specified ActiveX control" when the Data Out window is showing Refreshing Add-ins Link. Clicking OK opens the report, however the Show Task Pane then returns an error  "Object reference not set to an instance of an object".  Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks,

Lloyd

Lloyd - did you ever find a resolution for this?  We've ran into a similar issue on the Sage 100 side.
