I have had ongoing issues between Excel and IR. Usually by BI tools go missing and I am constantly bombarded with errors in my reports. This time the Report Designer add-in is completely missing from the Excel add-ins. How do I get it back? How do I get some consistency with IR?
The easiest way to get this back would be to go into Excel and click File>>Options>>Add-Ins.
Select Excel Add-Ins in the "Manage" drop down at the bottom of the page and click "Go...".
Look for the "report designer" in Excel add-ins and activate it by clicking on the checkbox.
If "Report designer" does not appear here, click "Browse" and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BIExcelFunctions1.1\32bit if you are using 32bit Excel or 64bit if you are using 64bit Excel and click the "Sage.BI.ExcelFunctions1.1.xll" file. This will add report designer functionality to your report.
Excel bit version can be found by going into Excel and clicking on File>>Account>>About Excel
Another reason the Report Designer may not appear would be the use of the "Solver" Add-In.

There are numerous factors which will result in the inconsistency you're experiencing and most of the time these are environmental (virtualization/system updates/ IT policies etc). The best way to isolate the cause would be a joint effort between your IT and a Sage support consultant for the product you're using.
