I'm just learning SI after 20 years of FRx.In FRx the report titles had functions you could enter for the company name and calendar date texte for the fiscal period end.I haven't found any functions like that in SI. When I look at the community posts, as well as google, I find multiple work arounds only.SPOILER ALERT, CHILDISH RANT AHEAD!Am I accurate in concluding that after 10 years of development, SI still has no way to match what FRx did for something as basic as a report title?See More

Integrating Sage Intelligence with newer Excel abilities like: Converting to Table, Data Model

Is SI looking at using the Excel Table feature instead of legacy named ranges? On the newer versions of Excel, you have the feature to convert a range of cells to a table format. As far as I can tell, this replaces the need for the named ranges in SI since it treats the source as a data table rather than individual cells. Is SI looking at the option to load to the Excel Data Model instead of only the worksheet? The Data Model is not limited to 1 million rows, so this would help when working with…See More

Importing SI .tre metadata into Excel to view, getting error (Internal error: Data at the root level is invalid. Line 4, position 1.)"

I'm trying to figure out a better way to create reporting trees and noticed the SI metadata stores the trees as a .tre file. I guessed it was an xml file so opened it in visual studio, which worked, but I get a message that there are inconsistent line endings.I don't know enough about xml or Visual Studio to know what that means. And it doesn't look particularly convenient to edit in VS.So I tried to import the tre file into Excel. That is where I got the error message saying the problem is…See More

How long should it take to open a template to edit it?

I'm still learning Sage Intelligence. l'm modifying a financial statement copied from the Financial Report Designer 1-1 default template. I'm assuming the only way to edit the template to update the reporting tree, etc, is to Run the report,  edit the excel file, and save the template. Is that the standard procedure?I ask because this a medium size report, and it took 2-1/2 minutes just to open the excel file before I could work on it. Yesterday, I added 140 rows to the reporting tree, clicked…See More
